Welcome to Little Acorns® Day Nursery.
At Little Acorns we provide a happy and caring atmosphere and a stimulating learning environment. Our commitment to quality is demonstrated by all staff to give the highest quality of care and support for your little one to have a head start in being prepared for School.
Little Acorns® aims:
Little Acorns Nursery is committed to the highest standard of care and education for the children entrusted to its care.
To this end, Little Acorns Nursery will provide a healthy, safe and happy environment for its children and the highest standards of professionalism from its staff.
We encourage our children to initiate their own activities and make their own choices. Appropriate resources are available to encourage independent choice.
Little Acorns Children's Day nursery opened in November 2000. At Little Acorns we offer the highest quality care for children aged 18 months to five years.
These are the most formative years of a child's life and it is our aim to provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum to help your child attain his or her full potential.
We offer facilities of the highest standard enabling us to provide a combination of structured and free play activities to help further develop you child's social, emotional and creative skills needed for the more formal setting of school life.
At Little Acorns we recognise each child as an individual and cater for their differing needs. We have an extensive range of equipment allowing us to provide a number of activities including arts & crafts, construction, water/sand play, puzzles, role play, music, song & dance, physical play, computer activities and more.
We introduce the children to computers using simple programmes initially which develop mouse control and then move on to more challenging programmes covering shape, colour, number & letter recognition, sorting and patterns etc.
We have an enclosed outdoor play area which the children are able to use daily. We offer a full range of activities which include chalk boards, skittles, balance beams, ribbons, bikes, push toys, sand, water, gardening and more. We have outdoor canopies which can be used as shelters in the bad weather and shades in the sunshine. We also have access to the main hall in the building.
We want your child to feel happy, safe and secure. Our staff work in partnership with parents to achieve this aim. We operate a 'key-worker' system, however all our staff build relationships with all the children.
The Director Debbie Byford is a strong believer in children learning through play and every effort is made to achieve this aim. We offer 'continuous provision' so that the children are able to make choices.
Little Acorns Children's Day Nursery operates an equal opportunities policy.
